how to draw cat Lesson 1 How to Draw a CatIt’s a well know fact that cats are not very good at drawing. Oh sure, they might tell you differently but when it comes right down to it having non-opposable thumbs makes it pretty hard to use a pencil. Now I’ve heard cats are pretty good at paper mache and they can shred paper faster then almost any artist I know. Some other things that cats are good at are, napping, eating, catching critters, sitting on laps and napping….oh and did I mention napping? Sounds like a pretty good life.

Most artist love cats. The reason for this is that artists love a model who can hold a pose and who can hold a pose longer then someone who naps 14 hours a day.

For this exercise you will need:

  • A pencil
  • An eraser
  • Paper
  • A pen
  • Something to color with
  • A warm sunny spot to nap (optional)
